Tyrrells Premier 15s side Richmond FC have signed France captain Gaëlle Mignot for the new season.
The 30-year-old hooker, who has 69 caps for her country, joins from Montpellier where she has won five domestic championships as well as a European title in 2008.
She has been captain of her national side since 2014 when they won the Six Nations Grand Slam and has also played in the last three Women's Rugby World Cups.
Mignot, who will also provide coaching sessions at Surrey Rugby, is available to make her debut in Richmond's game at Gloucester-Hartpury on Saturday 30 September.
“I am thrilled to join a club with such a rich history as Richmond," she said. "I am equally proud to be participating in the new era of women's rugby with the launch of the Tyrrells Premier 15s. I am coming here to help the team achieve their highest ambitions.”
David Mobbs-Smith, Richmond Women’s director of rugby, added: “We are thrilled to attract someone of Gaelle’s quality and vast international experience to Richmond, and we are excited that she will bring some real dynamism to the front row and showcase her leadership skills within the squad."
